Grace is one of the characteristic feature of God which is far beyond our understanding. John 1:14 says And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. Grace means you don't get punishment for what you should deserve but in turn get a favor from God. Mercy means you do not get a punishment that you deserve.
